Public buses, shuttle buses, private shuttles, taxis and limousines all run to the downtown Honolulu area from Honolulu International Airport (HNL) throughout the day and night.

Many visitors who have booked mainstream accommodation in Honolulu are able to take advantage of the numerous courtesy hotels shuttles, which can be requested upon arrival at the airport itself.

Buses

'TheBus' is the main public bus transportation system, which has two services that run to various locations in and around the city. Bus number 19 runs east and west of the airport, while bus number 20 serves central Waikiki including the Pearlridge Shopping Center.

Shuttle Buses

There are numerous shuttle bus operations that are available for transfers, with the licensed Waikiki Express shuttle service running to hotels and Waikiki. Other shuttle operations from Honolulu International Airport (HNL) include Oahu Airport Shuttle, Airport Island Shuttles, Island Express Transport and Reliable Shuttle among many others.

Hotel Shuttle Buses

Most of the larger hotel establishments in Honolulu and Waikiki operate courtesy shuttles, while the American Samoa Office, Commonwealth of North Mariana Islands / Marianas and the Department of Veterans Affairs (FMES) also run free shuttles to and from the airport.

Honolulu International Airport (HNL) has a number of limousine operations for those who prefer to travel in comfort and style.
